Ellis Nassour, an entertainment writer, a veteran of the New York Times and
the New York Daily News and the author of Rock OPatsy Cline, Honky Tonk Angelpera: The Creation of Jesus Christ Superstar has published Honky Tonk Angel, The Intimate Story of Patsy Cline, the country singer.

Patsy Cline the first female country singer to cross the line into pop and blues and the first to be named to the Country Music Hall of Fame was earthy, sexy and vivacious. She soared from obscurity to international fame to tragic death in just 30 short years. She broke all the boys club barriers of Nashville’s music business in the 1950s and brought a new Nashville sound to the nation with her pop hits and torch ballads.

It has been said that Patsy Cline, Honky Tonk Angel, the Musical would be a welcome theatrical event on the Broadway Stage!

The Actors Fund—Celebrating 125 Years

During the late 1800s, the United States was still recovering from the devasting effects of the Civil War. Members of the profession were denied charity and it was not unusual for them to be refused a decent burial. In 1879, a theatrical paper began a campaign for an “Actors Fund.”
